
Amber Casanave is a marketing communications executive with 20+ years of diverse experience managing brands and reputations. Her strategic work spans the gamut from sports to music entertainment, and from technology and energy to space exploration and economic empowerment. Amber’s experience in corporate, agency and non-profits sectors has made her an astute operational professional who leads complex, multi-functional teams in the development and implementation of strategic marketing communications solutions.
Amber’s professional career includes time serving as Vice President of Consumer Marketing at Edelman, where she developed creative marketing strategies for global companies including Shell, Chevron and Sunnova.
For five years, she served as the Vice President of Marketing & Communications at the National Urban League in New York where she strategically directed the organization’s integrated communications and marketing initiatives including media relations, social media, branding, advertising and events designed to empower people with quality resources. In this role, Amber worked alongside countless Fortune 500 companies such as Walmart, Bank of America and Coca-Cola where she created digital and experiential programs for the organization’s partners.
Prior to joining the National Urban League, Amber held positions at Universal Records, A&M Records and media relations firms in New York where she managed the public profiles of music artists, celebrities, corporate executives and brands.
Amber holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting, telecommunications and mass media from Temple University; and certificates in Strategic Marketing from Cornell University and Executive Leadership from The Center for Creative Leadership. Having lived in Philadelphia and New York, she now calls Houston home.
